Massachusetts Complete Streets Workshops Start November 17th!

Posted by 10/28/2011
Baystate Roads is pleased to launch our new Complete Streets Program starting with a 3-hour introductory workshop. This training will define Complete Streets, communicate the transportation, public health and environmental benefits and discuss implementation strategies. The 2006 MassDOT Highway Project Development and Design Guide established Massachusetts as a national leader in Complete Streets and will serve as a key design resource. Complete Streets can benefit all communities, regardless if they are rural, suburban or urban.

By attending this workshop, local leaders, decision makers and consultants will gain a solid framework for delivering Complete Streets locally. Recommended attendees include: municipal leadership (Mayors, town managers, department directors & their key team members), local zoning, health and planning board members, private consultants (engineers, planners, landscape architects, attorneys), educators and public health professionals. After completing this training you will understand how Complete Streets can help your community along with specific tools and next steps you can take to ensure Complete Streets benefit your community.

In addition, we will be starting the 6-hour workshops shortly that will be created specifically with roadway designers and engineers in mind!
