Baystate Roads Program

In this workshop, MassDOT will present 4 new specifications for municipal paving operations. The first is a specification that adds a safety edge to the paver. This device creates a 30 degree edge on the pavement, which eliminates sharp shoulder drop-offs. The second is a specification for municipal use of warm mix. The third is a specification for a new 9.5mm overlay. The fourth is a procedure that requires municipal application of volumetric design.
